Full casting has been announced for the re-opening of the new full production of LES MISÉRABLES at the Sondheim Theatre on 25 September 2021. 

Joining the acclaimed principal cast of Jon Robyns as Jean Valjean, Bradley Jaden as Javert, Gerard Carey as Thénardier, Josefina Gabrielle as Madame Thénardier and Harry Apps as Marius are Chanice Alexander-Burnett as Fantine, Jordan Shaw as Enjolras, Charlie Burn as Cosette and making her West End debut Sha Dessi as Eponine. 

Plans have been announced for Les Miserables to recommence performances this summer in all the show's former revolutionary glory without social distancing measures. The announcement comes after the vaccine is now being administered to the UK's higher-risk population, including Sir Ian McKellen, who received his first of two doses of the Pfizer vaccine on 16 March 2020.

Three West End shows are to perform a musical medley at the final of Britain’s Got Talent which will air on ITV1 this Saturday 10 October from 7:30pm. Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins will take to the stage to perform a special series of tunes.

Matt Lucas has been forced to withdraw from the West End production of Les Miserables after injuring his back. The comedian was meant to be a temporary replacement for Gerard Carey, who was also forced to prematurely leave the production in order to avoid chronic vocal damage. Carey is currently on vocal rest until 3 February at the recommendation of his doctor.

The Sondheim Theatre in London — home to Les Miserables — has been forced to delay its lunchtime opening event after it's been reported that Stephen Sondheim, 89, fell in his Connecticut home, leaving him "temporarily incapacitated."

The longest-running West End musical, Les Miserables, officially reopened on Wednesday, 18 December at the Sondheim Theatre after the venue underwent an extensive refurbishment project. The long-awaited return of the beloved London musical did not come without some unfortunate news for the actor cast as Thénardier, however.
